Lavina Lee

This is a photograph of Lavina and a horse she rode in Iceland. She has also ridden an elephant in Malaysia. She can tell you a lot about these animals and a menagerie of others (flightless birds, sloths, squid, etc.), but you shouldn't get her started.

She can also tell you a lot about grammar (her favorite punctuation mark is the semicolon). She copyedits for a living, and edits music reviews for Flak because she loves both music and Flak. She also loves books, stringed instruments and David Attenborough. She hates mosquitoes and shares a birthday with Wyatt Earp and Philip Roth.

Lavina lives in Brooklyn, New York, where she's been living since 2002. She was born and raised in Sacramento, Calif.
