Joseph C. Krupnick
Joseph K fashions himself a rebellious "good fella." He inhabits the more banal section of downtown Chicago and when not wandering the streets ruminating on the tragic-comedy of human life, he devotes his freetime to poker, reading lousy philosophical texts and watching anything with Lena Olin. He holds to his father's maxim that "there are more pricks than kicks" and still believes that Tim Raines deserves to be in Cooperstown. For money, he runs a small tutoring outfit that primarily serves high school students with learning disabilities and feels a much greater affinity to his kids than to his leg-humping Harvard classmates. For play, he tries not to take the game too seriously.
