Correction

I recently wrote an article about an adventure I had in St. Louis. The Regent Review published this for me. Unfortunately, a certain section was edited out of it. I feel that this portion should have been printed with the rest of the article. The point of the article was to inspire readers not to prejudge people based on factors that the people are not to be blamed for.

I specifically discussed environment as factor that has fostered preconceived stereotypes against individuals. Then, I contrasted this stereotype versus an individual's actions. Should not people be judged by their actions, not what we think their actions would be based on where they live, the color of their skin, what they wear, or how they talk?

It seems that the point was missed, and a preconceived point of view was inferred from the censored passage. I think that the West High readers are above this disposition. If you would please now dig out your copies of the most recent Regent Review.

Please read my article titled "Unexpected Hospitality Inspires Motorist." At the end of the sixth paragraph, scratch the last line. Insert my original line, please, for the full effect of my original article, and the full effect of my original idea. The line:

The other guy takes a drink from his paper bag, and says, "I ain't pushing shit, for shit, on your ass."
